Actuate UK partners with elementalLONDON 2025

Actuate UK joins elementalLONDON 2025

Engineering services alliance, Actuate UK, has partnered with Lyrical Communications, the team behind InstallerSHOW, to support their new event elementalLONDON as they prepare for their debut show.

Over two days in November (19-20 November 2025) at ExCel London, elementalLONDON will bring together over 200 exhibitors and 200+ speakers, to deliver an unmissable programme to 4,000 specifiers in the heating and cooling, water, air, and energy space; supporting them to optimise the efficiency of their buildings while embracing innovation.

With the ethos of advancing the efficiency of buildings at its core, elementalLONDON will deliver an event unlike any other in the market, combining deep insight with practical understanding of the challenges faced by professionals in the heating and cooling, water, air, and energy space.

Maria Balermpa, Operations and Communications Manager at Actuate UK welcomed the new industry show: “elementalLONDON will provide a great opportunity for engineering services companies and professionals to meet, exchange knowledge and views on current issues within the wider built environment community, including clients.

We are looking forward with our members to help contributing to these discussions and address topical questions, such as, what is a safe and healthy building environment, how to minimise risk with better collaboration along the supply chain, and ensuring we have the skills and competence to realise sustainable, well-designed and well maintained buildings.”

Felicity Reese, Partnerships Manager at elementalLONDON added: “We are very excited to agree this partnership with Actuate UK and to help promote the work and that of their alliance members to our audience.  We look forward to working with them closely over the coming year and welcoming their members to ExCel London in November 2025 and beyond.”

The elementalLONDON audience is typically referred to under the umbrella of specifiers, but in practical terms is a broad church encompassing a variety of roles and disciplines across residential and non-residential. This includes building services engineers, developers, facilities managers, architects, designers, local authorities, housebuilders, housing associations, consultants, contractors and sustainability managers.  The common thread within this community is the responsibility for making decisions based around the reduction of energy use and carbon emissions in the built environment.

Actuate UK welcomes Government’s proposals to ban retentions & reform late payments

24 March 2026

Actuate UK, welcomes Government’s intention to act on its proposed reforms on late payments and take legislative measures to ban the use of retentions in construction contracts. Actuate UK and its members have been calling for a legislative change to stop the payment abuse of cash retentions in construction. We will continue to engage with Government and our members to ensure the implementation of this action is effective and drives the cultural change in our industry towards a safer and higher-quality built environment.

Actuate UK welcomes Government consultation on retentions & late payments

31 July 2025

Engineering services alliance, Actuate UK, welcomes the new Government consultation on reforming cash retentions and taking legislative measures against late payments to small businesses, as part of the new Small Business Plan. Withholding retentions across the supply chain has been an outdated practice which disproportionally impacts the cashflow of small businesses across the construction. Actuate UK and its members will now widely consult and submit a response supporting a solution that is fair, enforceable and sustainable.
