This is your chance to learn more and ask questions about the New Hospital Programme (NHP) which is part of the Government’s multi-billion-pound Health Infrastructure Plan to develop 48 hospitals by 2030.

Speaker: Emma-Jane Houghton, Commercial Director New Hospitals Programme (NHPwill be outlining the programme of works over the next few years and explain how NHP will look into procuring from the engineering services sector (mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering). It will also outline the next steps for their market engagement and how the MEP supply chain can be involved.

NHP would like to have an early and extensive market engagement, to ensure they capture a wide range of suppliers who may be interested.

They published a Prior Information Notice (PIN) providing details of an online Smart Survey where organisations can register their interest to engage, through their Supply Markets Team. The PIN will be live for 6 weeks, but the ability to register interest via the Smart Survey link will be ongoing  -

Engineering & Building Services Skills Authority unveil work to codify competences & standards for industry

The Engineering and Building Services Skills Authority (EBSSA) are inviting multiple installer disciplines to begin codifying standards and competences for the sector. This initiative is part of wider industry and government efforts to ‘raise the bar’ on individual competence within the built environment in line with the new post-Grenfell competence regime established by the Building Safety Act.

Actuate UK warns on changes to Net Zero policies

The Prime Minister’s announcement yesterday (20/9/23) signals unpredictability and creates uncertainty for the many businesses in the engineering services sector investing, or looking to invest, in net zero transition. When it comes to plotting the route to a net zero 2050, industry needs certainties and targets that will incentivise such change, enable development of new skills, create new job opportunities and grow the green economy.
